Meta Platforms Inc., the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has signed a 20-year agreement to purchase power from Constellation Energy's Clinton nuclear plant in Illinois, starting in mid-2027. This deal comes as demand for energy surges due to the rise of artificial intelligence and may lead to the construction of a new reactor at the site. Constellation, the largest nuclear operator in the U.S., has not disclosed financial details of the contract.
